Trinity Haywood, ‘25

Trinity Haywood is a freshman at UCLA majoring in pre-Public Affairs. She plans to minor in either Global Studies or Urban & Regional Studies. In addition to completing her core curriculum, this Los Angeles native plans to intern or study abroad in Spain. Upon graduation, she desires to attend law school and then become a lawyer so she can make systemic change that would improve the lives of underserved and marginalized people.

As the former Student Body President of her high school, Trinity brings strong leadership experience, and looks forward to joining Student Government during her tenure as a Bruin. Her passion for advocating for social justice issues has influenced her involvement in student demonstrations against racial inequity and gun violence in schools; missionary work with survivors of human sex trafficking; and the Mayor’s Youth Council as project lead for the Homeless Cohort.

Prior to moving on campus, Trinity volunteered for seven years in Children’s Ministry at her church as a Teaching Assistant and Worship Leader, and mentored teens in the Youth Ministry. She also worked extensively with American Red Cross conducting bi-annual blood drives, and plans to help organize similar events at UCLA. Trinity will also be involved in campus and community activities through the VIP Scholars Program and Alumni Scholars Club.

As a grateful recipient of the Norma J. Ehrlich Scholarship, Trinity is enthusiastic about partnering with other women who are dedicated to improving the lives of others, making a positive impact in their communities, and being role models for young girls to follow in their footsteps.
