Adilene Ramirez, ’18, JD ’24 (Southwestern)
Adilene Ramirez is deeply interested in a wide range of workplace matters, particularly those related to labor, employment, and workers’ rights. She graduated from UCLA with a BA in Political Science and a minor in Labor & Workplace Studies.
Her interest in workplace issues was shaped early on by observing her father’s work in construction and masonry, which gave her insight into the challenges workers face. While attending Southwestern Law School, Adilene further developed these interests through her Peggy Browning Fellowship at a member-led organization dedicated to empowering Latino workers in Texas, as well as her work with an activist labor union representing hospitality industry employees in California and Arizona. She also served as Vice President of the Labor and Employment Law Association.
After law school, Adilene worked as an attorney at a prominent union-side labor law firm representing various Southern California labor unions. She now practices as a plaintiff-side employment attorney, continuing her commitment to advocating for workers’ rights.
The Norma J. Ehrlich Scholarship has played a meaningful role in her journey, providing both financial support and a strong network of mentorship and community that has supported her professional growth.
