Celene Chan Andrews, ’05, JD ’08 (UC Hastings)

Celene Chan Andrews is a partner at the law firm of LippSmith LLP. Celene is admitted to practice in California and Hawai‘i and has achieved over $200 million in settlements for her clients. She litigates class actions, mass torts, construction defect, intellectual property, and personal injury cases. Celene graduated cum laude from UCLA in 2005 with degrees in Communications and Political Science. She was on the Dean’s & Provost’s Honor Lists.

During college, Celene’s volunteer activities included serving as Director of UCLAtv (BruinNews29), Copy Editor of the UCLA Advertising Team, UCLA Peer Advertising Network mentor, Resident Assistant, and President of her residential hall.

Celene received her JD from UC Hastings in 2008. She served as a judicial extern to the Hon. David A. Ezra, U.S. District Court (District of Hawai‘i) and a law clerk to the Hon. Alan S. Gold, U.S. District Court (Southern District of Florida).

Celene’s honors include Top 10 Under 40 attorney in California (National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys), Top 40 Under 40 Attorney (National Trial Lawyers), Top Attorney (Pasadena Magazine), Best Under 40 (National Asian Pacific American Bar Association), Super Lawyer, Super Lawyers Rising Star, Up-and-Coming 50 Women Southern California Rising Star, and Up-and-Coming 100 Southern California Rising Star.

Celene values giving back to her community with the same passion she brings to the representation of her clients. The Legal Eagles Pro Bono Clinic awarded Celene the 2013-14 Volunteer of the Year and the Southern California Chinese Lawyers Association awarded Celene the 2016 President’s Award.

To Celene, one of the earliest Ehrlich Alumni Scholars, the Ehrlich Alumni Scholarship has provided a life-long mentor through donor Craig Ehrlich and an opportunity to mentor other fellow Ehrlich Scholars and develop professional and personal networks.
